Camping
The reason why I did not post in a while is because I went on a camping trip. I stayed from monday morning to wednesday morning [Three days]. It was just my dad and I. First thing we did was swimming in the rapids and trout fishing. I banged up my shins pretty bad though. We did not catch any thing though because we did not have the right equipment. Every night my dad and I would watch "3rd Rock from the Sun" Television series. But we only had 6 hours worth of battery. We ate eggs, hamburgers and salami sandwiches for meals. What was funny is that there were four chipmunks that we feed peanuts. One chipmunk stuffed three in its mouth and had to carry another in it's front legs.

Can't wait for my Trip to Lake Erie
My dad and I are thinking about going to Lake Erie for a fishing trip sometime this summer. We might take a charter. For the people who do not know what a charter is, it is when a group of people go on a boat and fish all at the same time. Kinda like a mega fishing trip. On the charter we are going to fish for walleye or perch. I have never caught walleye or perch before so this will be a fun experience. I hope the weather will be ok on our trip.

Shallow Water Fishing Tips
I am not an expert but what I have learned in my shallow water fishing experiences are:
- When you are using a crankbait use a square billed one. The reason for that is because it bounces off rocks and other obstacles.
- Sometimes the weeds and other annoying junk are on the bottom of the shallow lake. When reeling in lift you pole higher than you usually do to prevent catching the weeds. (duh)
- Another problem with lakes that are shallow are the floating green slop. No need to give up and wait for it to clear! What I do is I get a long stick and put a hanger or a hook shaped object to clear a path just for you to reel in.
- If the lake has a sandy bottom use a crankbait that digs into the ground to attract fish.
- If the lake is murky use bright lures like red, yellow, orange, and green.
- When jigging in shallow water use the Texas Style rigging to use the weeds to your advantage. Try to pull the jig in to you so the lure goes straight across.
